September, so far...

September has already been a very busy month.  So busy that I haven't blogged at all and the month is almost over!!  So let me give a quick recap of our month, so far...

Labor Day weekend was a little goofy.  All lake activities were cancelled due to a complete lack of water in Lake Kanopolis, since there has been ZERO rain here this summer.  Ironically, it rained all day Friday -- a remnant of the gulf hurricane.  We were planning some family time with the Perkins' and Hensleys but the rain in KC flooded Emily and Josh's basement causing them to cancel their trip home.  Boo!  So we stayed home to try to clean and get some of our moving-in chores completed.  On Sunday, we went to the Huber family reunion in Lindsborg and swam at great-Grammie's house.  The Perkins' surprised us by showing up after all and we got to hang out and play cards together Sunday night and most of Monday!  Fun!! :)

Sleeping babies at the family reunion.

Cousins checkin' each other out.

Look what we found while I was doing laundry!
Oma, Doodah, Locke, and Kinley.
The following week, aunt Jaime came to town to visit.  Jaime hadn't seen the kids since May!!  We were really excited to see her and I even got to spend some one-on-one time with my sister-in-law.  I wish we were able to spend more time together!
Locke loves his aunt Jaime.

Ledger wouldn't hold still for a picture with his aunt.

Locke showed us his mad face.  Priceless.
That weekend, we traveled to KC.  We got there in time to see Uncle Josh's Olathe South football game -- but Mommy didn't come prepared for the chilly winds, so we left just after halftime.  On Saturday, we went to Lego Land Discovery Center with BoomMa and BoomPa.  Ledger is REALLY into Legos right now, so this was a special treat for him!  The activities are mostly geared towards kids in a older age bracket, but Ledger especially loved the Laser Gun ride and 4D movie!

Last week was a very special week for Ledger at preschool.  It was his STAR week!  He had still been crying at preschool drop-offs and the teachers thought that being the "star" would help him be excited about coming to school.  I was still a little bit leary, but we tried to make a big deal about being the star.  We picked out special treats to take with us to share with the class (cookies and fruit punch) and picked out some of our favorite family pictures so that he could tell all about his family.  Despite my skepticism, STAR week was a success and we had two drop offs with NO TEARS!  Yes!!

This last weekend, we went to the KSU v. OU game in Norman, Oklahoma with the Powells and Perkins'.  It was so much fun, it gets it's own post...
