Tonight we went to eat at one of Daddy's favorite Mexican restaurants: Jalisco in Lindsborg. Since we traveled all the way down to "the Borg" to enjoy our meal, we decided to take some pictures of our little blonde-haired, blue-eyed Sweedish baby with the Dala horses in Lindsborg. Maybe we'll have to do this every year near his birthday. It would be neat to compare the years as he grows! :)

Watch Me Walk
Last week I posted about how well Ledger is walking. Now I get to prove it to you via the miracle of video posts on the internet! The first video is a little long, but you can see how mobile he is right now. The second video is much shorter, but I think it's just hilarious to see his little naked butt walking across the living room. Enjoy!!

200 Posts!
This is my 200th post on MichelSpot. Considering that I just started blogging with Ledger's arrival last year, that means that I am averaging 1 blog every 1.8 days. Woah! I hope you all have enjoyed reading along with us and watching Ledger grow and change.
Next week, he will turn 1. Today we received his first birthday present in the mail from the Guy family. Ledger really enjoyed opening it... as you can see.
We can't believe how big he has gotten. When he's dressed in jeans and a t-shirt, he looks so grown up. But at night, when he's in his jammies... he looks like our cute little baby. Isn't he just adorable??

We're Walking...
So this week, Ledger has been busy walking! Which means that Mommy and Daddy have been busy chasing him! :) One of his favorite places to hang out is the front door. Big thanks to BoomPa for installing our awesome storm door. Ledger loves it!

Aquarium Fun
This weekend we're in Oklahoma visiting Boom-Ma and Boom-Pa. Despite having incredible weather all week long, this weekend it is rainy and cold. Go figure! So we decided to enjoy the great indoors and visit the Oklahoma Aquarium today. Here are the pictures from our fun day!

Here Comes Trouble
It's official... Ledger has decided that walking will be faster than crawling as soon as he masters it. He is walking without being prompted and walking 8-10 steps with no problem. Every day he gets a little stronger and his balance gets a little better. I think our lives are about to get a lot busier! :)

Tiptoe Through the Tulips
I love spring. Everything is in bloom and beautiful. The pear trees are amazing right now! Daffodils have already bloomed and are starting to wane. But now the tulips are starting to bloom! We don't have any tulips planted in our yard... maybe next year. So this year we "borrowed" our neighbor's tulips and took a few pics of the kid with the tulips. He wasn't really in much of a mood to allow photos, so these aren't as great as I had hoped...

AC/DC Concert
On Sunday, Chris and I (along with Damon and Jeff and Jody Daily) drove to KC to see AC/DC's "Black Ice" tour. AC/DC is Chris' very favorite band, and this was his 3rd time to see them in concert. Our seats were incredible! ROW 9!!! We were amazingly close to Brian Johnson while he belted out some of our favorites like "Thunderstruck" and "Hell's Bells". Angus was all over the stage, and when he was close to us, you could see his little fingers working overtime on that lead guitar. We took an unholy number of pictures and video, so I will spare you from posting all of them. If you want to see them, you can view them here. Here are a few of our favorite pictures from the show:

11 Months Old!!
Monthly pictures becoming increasingly difficult. |
- Ledger was diagnosed with some serious food allergies to eggs, milk, soy, and corn. It has taken most of the month for us to adapt and remove these things from his diet. He is currently eating a hypoallergenic formula, breast milk, deli meat, crackers, and the occasional fruit/veggie that we can sneak in.
- Ledger is still taking a few independent steps here-and-there but not really walking. He is still faster at crawling, so when he really wants something, he just sits down and crawls. :)
- After some very serious sleep training, Ledger is finally falling asleep all by himself and sleeping 6 to 8 hours at a time. It is really amazing. It was difficult to enforce the "cry it out" method, but it paid off. For everybody.
- Now that Ledger is eating better, his diapers have gotten significantly stinkier. Seriously. He is still wearing size 3 diapers.
- Speaking of diapers... Ledger had a major bout of diarrhea and resultant diaper rash. Ouch.
- Ledger is wearing size 12 month clothes and continues to be "right on" when it comes to the standard sizes.
- Ledger had his first St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Spring Break, and trip to Pittsburg, KS

We also got to see the Pogue family from Colorado. I can't believe how BIG Conner has gotten! He certainly doesn't look like he's only 5!

Another tooth... and other news.
It's official -- Tooth #5 is here. Click on the picture above and you can see it peeking out of the gums just to the side of his front two incisors. It looks like his 6th tooth is on it's way already -- should be his left upper 2nd incisor. Chris already calls him Chompers! ;)
In other baby news, Ledger is doing GREAT with his sleep training. After going through his bedtime routine (bath, jammies, nurse, rock) I lay him down in his crib where he cries for 2-3 minutes before totally wiping out. AND he typically sleeps AT LEAST about 7 hours at a time... sometimes more! It's really amazing. Thank you to everyone for being so supportive as we struggled to really tackle this problem.
We also had the speech therapist visit us this week to check-in on Ledger's progress with food texture aversion. We though he had been doing very well... and she agreed! We are finally able to squeeze in a few fruits and vegetables that we previously couldn't get him to eat. He even ate some small chunks of an apple yesterday! Since he was diagnosed with food allergies, we have had trouble coming up with foods that are appropriate and healthy for him to eat. Being able to add fruits and veggies will help us out a lot!
